BEYOND ACADEMICS

A Unique & Supportive Community

We believe that every student deserves a place where they can get the attention they need to develop their individual strengths and talents that prepare them for success in higher education, their careers, and interpersonal relationships.

EMBRACING THE DIFFERENCE

A Flexible
Holistic Approach

Summit has earned an outstanding reputation in the field of special education by providing a flexible holistic approach. Our students benefit from our integrated learning and therapeutic approaches and learn best using an individualized program in small settings.

WHO WE SERVE

Our Community

The Summit School at Queens serves over 275 students in grades 3-12 who come from all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Westchester County. Our students are diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and/or emotional challenges. They are mostly at or near grade level in their academics, but are uneven in their abilities.

CLINICAL SUPPORT

Amplified Success

Our certified clinical staff of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers works with students individually and in small groups to maximize student success.

Since 1968, The Summit School has been giving children with learning and adjustment challenges the attention they need to develop their individual strengths and talents. Summit has created a therapeutic educational environment that respects individuality and meets the needs of each child.

Our learning environment is warm, friendly, and conducive to individual growth. Summit students enjoy coming to school because it is a place where they can develop a positive sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
