*As an alumni, when you support Summit’s Commemorative Journal at the Leader, Sustaining, or Supporting levels, you get a bonus to be entered into Summit’s Best of Broadway Raffle. It’s our way to say “thank YOU.” One raffle winner takes it all: Two orchestra seats to three Broadway shows on three dates, including To Kill A Mockingbird on January 25, 2019, Dear Evan Hansen on February 9, 2019, and Hamilton on March 30, 2019. The curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. Ticket bundle value: $2,000+. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. The Summit School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our 50th Year Celebration starts at Summit’s 2018 Annual Benefit, which will be held on November 19 at The Pierre, where our commemorative gala journal will be unveiled. We are doing this in response to the many requests that have already been received from Summit families, past and present, to help everyone express and share their sentiments about their time spent at Summit. We understand that there may be a few nice things that everyone wants to say.

If you experienced great times at Summit, if it made a difference in your life, if you want to ensure that Summit continues to be accessible for the next generations of students as it was for you, then please consider being a part of our commemorative journal -- inscribe your name or send your message. Every gift counts. Alumni funds donated for the 50th Year Celebration will help shape Summit’s classroom of the future as we respond to changing learning styles and collaborative teaching and will be also used in support of Summit’s Work-Based Learning Program, an initiative that continues to set our school apart from others and to prepare students for life ahead.

We are so delighted to kick off The Summit School’s 50th Year Celebration and to recognize our school’s remarkable achievements. As Summit parents and alumni you know first hand how Summit has become one of the leading pioneers in special education in New York City. The secret of our success is a flexible approach that adapts to the needs of students, one by one, and the continuity of having a committed, dedicated, and talented staff with the average tenure of 20 years. We also take great pride in the successive generations of parents who have created tremendous community spirit and who have so generously built and kept Summit strong these many years.

We have always been gratified by the generosity of our families. The effect of these gifts is clearly visible in every aspect of our students’ lives, every day, at both the lower and upper schools. Always know that our doors are open to you, and we look forward to receiving your journal message before November 1. Also note that plans are underway for a reunion in spring 2019 — stay tuned. Thank you for making our future, and that of our students, possible.

If you can, we’d be thrilled to see you at the benefit — click here to purchase tickets to attend.

With warm regards,

Richard Sitman
