Every one of us has a Summit Story to share. While some parents more than others had to fight their districts to obtain these much-needed educational placements, The Summit School has been the savior for our children.
Throughout their academic years, Summit has been there providing the academic, emotional, and therapeutic support our children needed to grow and mature in hopes they will become successful adults. Our children will carry forward their memories of friendships formed with students and teachers alike. They’ll retain the comfort of knowing their advisors and mentors will still be there, long after they graduate, if they have a question or need support.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to The Summit School. As parents of graduating seniors, we ask that you contribute to the Senior Gift Fund. In past years, the combined contributions of Summit families have helped to underwrite the rebuild and supply of the science lab, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a new fitness center, and most recently 3D printers – all supporting the work of students in the Upper School. In the coming year, Summit hopes to build on the exciting momentum started at its last annual benefit when parents helped to fund the initial purchase of Smartboard replacements for the entire school. While funds raised exceeded expectations and helped the school purchase more units than requested, seven more are needed to complete the technology transition to faster, interactive, and networked units for all of the classrooms at the Upper School. This type of technology is not a luxury any more. Today, it is how Summit’s teachers plan and present their lessons. It is how our children connect, share, and learn.
Gifts from parents have ranged from $100 to as much as $60,000 over the years. We understand each family’s abilities and personal circumstances are different. We hope for 100% participation, and we know that Summit will greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness at any level. Our goal is to raise $35,000 as each Smartboard costs $5,000, and we want to help Summit finish this project.
When we work together as we’ve done over these many years, our combined efforts can make a meaningful difference to the school while also leaving a legacy from the Class of 2016.
