Swim-A-Thon: Laps for Learning
Summit’s students have been making a big splash for the school since our inaugural Swim-A-Thon in 2009 when Lower School students raised more than $15,000 to help renovate their classrooms. Every year since, the Parents’ Association has helped to raise the stakes: In 2010, more than $40,000 was contributed to support the Lower School Yard project; the 2011 Laps for Laptops initiative involved more than 100 students whose athletic efforts helped to purchase 50 new Macbooks for mobile learning; and the 2012 Laps for Learning initiative raised over $30,000 for interactive and collaborative learning technology in the Lower School.
THE RUN FOR SUMMIT
Parents are also on the move, adding extra support for our kids. The Summit running team has participated in the 5K and Brooklyn Half Marathon. Parents interested in joining should contact Carin van der Donk.
